Susi Sie (b. 1982) is an Emmy Award winning artist based in Zurich, Switzerland.
Her work is rooted entirely in analog materials and macro techniques, revealing the unseen through film and photography.
With a deep sensitivity to texture, movement and form, Susi captures ephemeral phenomena and transforms them into visual experiences. Her art unveils the hidden beauty and quiet magic of our natural world - a world governed by physical and mathematical laws that often escape the naked eye.
Committed to authenticity, she works exclusively with real substances and tangible matter. Her process rejects all forms of computer-generated imagery or digital effects. Instead, Susi creates a visual language that is tactile, honest and deeply personal - an ongoing study of perception, presence and the essence of things.
Her distinctive style has gained international recognition and led to collaborations with clients such as Netflix, HBO, Porsche, Sony and many others.
In 2016, Susi had the honor of contributing to the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro - an experience that brought her work to a global stage.
She is also a passionate educator, having taught workshops as a guest lecturer at renowned institutions including the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg.
Susi’s films and installations have been exhibited around the world - from New York and London to Paris, where her work was shown at the prestigious Palais de Tokyo. Her visual experiments have received numerous accolades, including multiple Vimeo Staff Picks and awards at international film festivals.
In 2023, Susi was awarded the Emmy for Outstanding Graphic Design and Art Direction for her work on the Netflix documentary "A Trip to Infinity".
